About Zoom AI Companion

Zoom AI Companion is a suite of AI features integrated throughout the Zoom Workplace platform, including Zoom Meetings, Team Chat, Mail, Whiteboard, and Docs. It uses multiple large language models to provide intelligent assistance such as automatic meeting summaries with action items, real-time transcription and translation, smart compose for messages and emails, and workflow automation through agentic capabilities. Key features include meeting summaries that capture key discussion points and action items even if you miss the meeting, real-time transcription with speaker identification, smart compose for drafting chat messages and emails, whiteboard content generation, document drafting assistance, and as of version 3.0, agentic workflows that can take actions on behalf of users. AI Companion can also provide catch-up summaries across chat channels. Zoom maintains a robust security posture with certifications including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, and SOC 3. The platform supports end-to-end encryption for meetings and complies with GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulatory frameworks. AI Companion data is not used to train models, and meeting hosts control whether AI features are enabled. Zoom Video Communications was founded in 2011 by Eric Yuan, a former Cisco Webex engineer.
