Agenta was founded in 2023 in Berlin and provides an open-source platform for LLM application development and operations. The platform covers prompt management, A/B testing of prompts, LLM evaluation (including automated evaluators and human annotation), observability and tracing, and deployment management. The platform is designed for developer and ML engineering teams who need to iterate on prompts, evaluate LLM output quality, and monitor production AI applications. It integrates with major LLM providers and supports custom evaluation pipelines. Agenta is open-source and can be self-hosted, giving European teams full control over their LLM observability data. The cloud version provides a managed alternative. Despite being early-stage (approximately $158K in pre-seed funding from Antler, InReach Ventures, and BEYOND Copenhagen), Agenta has achieved approximately $1.1 million ARR with a team of around 10 people — demonstrating strong product-market fit in the LLMOps space. As a Berlin-based company, Agenta competes directly with Langfuse (also Berlin-based, now part of ClickHouse) and US-based alternatives like LangSmith and Helicone. The EU legal structure and self-hosting option make it a compelling choice for European teams that want LLMOps tooling without US data exposure.
