About Dust

Dust was founded in 2022 by two former OpenAI researchers—Gabriel Hubert and Stanislas Polu—and is headquartered in Paris, France. The company builds an enterprise AI platform that enables non-technical teams to create AI assistants connected to a company's internal knowledge and tools, and deploy them across the organisation without requiring engineering resources for every assistant. Dust's platform connects to data sources across a company's stack—Notion, Google Drive, Confluence, GitHub, Slack, Intercom, Salesforce, Zendesk, and others—and indexes that content to make it available as context for AI assistants. Teams can then create purpose-built AI assistants (a 'Sales GPT' with access to CRM and playbooks, a 'Support GPT' with access to documentation and past tickets, an 'HR GPT' with access to HR policies) and deploy them via Slack, a web interface, or API. The platform supports multiple underlying LLMs—Mistral, Claude, GPT-4—and enables companies to choose their preferred model provider, including EU-sovereign options like Mistral. This model flexibility is important for sovereignty-conscious European businesses who may want EU-incorporated model providers. Dust is French-incorporated (SAS) under French law, hosted in EU data centres, and designed with GDPR compliance from the ground up. The founding team's OpenAI and research background provides technical credibility, and Dust has attracted backing from notable European and US investors including several Mistral AI co-founders.
