SAP Joule is SAP's strategic generative AI copilot, deeply embedded across the full SAP cloud portfolio to transform how enterprise users interact with business data and processes. Unlike standalone AI tools, Joule is context-aware—it understands the user's role, their current application, and the underlying business data to provide relevant, actionable responses. Business users across finance, HR, procurement, sales, and IT can ask Joule questions in natural language and receive summarised insights, recommendations, and the ability to trigger actions directly within the SAP interface. For example, an HR manager can ask Joule to analyse workforce metrics, a procurement officer can query supplier risk, or a finance team member can request a cash flow summary—all without navigating complex menus or reports. Joule is built on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and integrates with SAP's AI Foundation, which includes both proprietary SAP AI models and third-party LLMs. SAP's approach prioritises business context, meaning Joule uses enterprise data from SAP systems—not generic internet knowledge—to deliver answers that are relevant to the specific organisation's processes and policies.
